The name of Lenchen Klarfeld is mentioned on a list of Jewish pupils that were not allowed to go to public schools anymore from 1 September 1941. She was deported to Westerbork on 12 February 1942, together with the other foreign inhabitants of the Centraal Israëlitisch Weeshuis. Her name was registered there on 10 March 1942.

According to the Sterbebücher of Auschwitz Lenchen Klarfeld died on 19 August 1942. It is possible this date is different from the official day of death as established after the war by the Department of Justice.
