Israel Roodveld was a son of Abraham Roodveldt and Rachel Bromet. He married on 18 August 1915 in Amsterdam to Catharina Sluijter, daughter of Isaac Sluijter and Roosje Presser. The couple had one daughter Rachel.
Israel Roodveldt had 5 other siblings, of whom Mozes has survived the war, Leentje and Jesaya died before the war but 512389 and 518462 did not survive the Holocaust.
After the death of theis sister-in-law Grietje Scheffer in June 1919, Israel Roodveldt and his wife Catharina Sluijter admitted in their home Grietjes widower Philip Roodveldt and his children Andries, Abraham and Rebecca. Only nephew Andries stayed in this family until he got married to Alida Vischjager in October 1942.
