Barend Mooleman’s granddaughter remembers watching him working in the living room, cutting diamonds. Her grandparents lived across the street from her and her parents. Her mother allowed her to visit them each day for a drink of chocolate milk.
One night in September 1942 her grandfather was taken. He was permitted to say goodbye to his daughter on the other side of the street. The noise woke up his granddaughter, giving her a chance to say goodbye too.
