In July 1941, an obituary was placed in Het Joodsche Weekblad for D.S. van Zuiden. The same edition of the weekly paper contained an obituary.
Van Zuiden was into Jewish historiography, namely of the Jews and the Jewish community in The Hague. In 1913, he published 'De Hoogduitsche Joden in The Hague vanaf hunne komst tot op heden' (The Ashkenazic Jews in The Hague from their arrival to date'). He wrote numerous articles on the subject. He delved deeply in the history of the Boas banking house, which played an important role in cultural life in the 18th century. In 1939, he published a genealogy of the Boas dynasty. He was a member of the Association for Jewish Science. He also published articles about Jews abroad, particularly about their achievements in the field of art.
