About Mozes Schaap

Mozes Schaap was a son of Gompel Wolf Schaap and Hendrina Walvisch. He married on 12 September 1917 to Betsy Frederika Blez, who passed away in Amsterdam on 10 November 1935.
Mozes remarried there on 28 August 1940 to Bertha Loonstein, daughter of Jaocb Loonstein and Naatje Speijer.
Mozes Schaap had six other brothers: Wolf, Abraham, Salomon, Jonas, Joseph and Hartog who also have been killed during the Holocaust. His only sister has survived the war.

Mozes Schaap joined the Hollandia-Kattenburg textile factory in Amsterdam on 9 February 1927. On Wednesday, 11 November 1942, around 4:30 PM, Willy Lages conducted the Sicherheitspolizei raid on the Hollandia factories. All exits were blocked, and the Jewish staff members were taken away that evening. Photographs of all workers taken away that evening, as well as those deported previously, appear in the 'Boek der tranen' [Book of tears].
