Maurits Philips, working as office clerk, got married on 13 May 1942 in Grijpskerk to Elly Allegonda Gans, a stenotypist by trade. She was the daughter of Mozes Gans and Henderina Gans. It was the last marriage to take place between two Jewish partners in Grijpskerk.
