Mathilde Leezer was in hiding with Elly Desira Vleesblok above the railway station in Aalten. She was betrayed on 21 June 1943. A member of the Kolonne Henneicke and an Aalten state police officer raided the place where they were hiding and found the two women hidden under a bed.
