Maurits Lutteraan was a secondary school teacher. He lived with his father Levi at 13 A-plein in Zwolle. Another child from the family survived the war.

Maurits Lutteraan went into hiding with his friend Raphael Hirsch, in the Achterhoek. After a raid on 16 February 1944 he was deported to Auschwitz.
