Aron Lermer was married to Engeltje van Trommel, who died of a heart attack before the war. They had two children: Annegien and a child who survived the war thanks to a mixed marriage. Aron Lermer owned a men’s clothing shop in Rotterdam’s inner city, on the Binnerotte. Aron was arrested while helping someone push a handcart down the street. During his time at Westerbork, his glasses were knocked off his face.
