Arthur Meijer was an officer at the KNIL army. In 1910 Arthur married Helene Cohen. They lived in several places in the Netherlands-Indies. In 1923 they moved together with their three sons to Heppenheim (Germany). In 1934 they moved to Putten in the Netherlands. Arthur and Helene were both arrested in Putten in 1942. Helene had been transported on November 18, 1942, to Westerbork, barracks 85. Arthur arrived in Westerbork on December 12, 1942, barracks 82. On February 2, 1943, they were deported to Auschwitz.
Two of their children survived the war, whereas their youngest child Ernst Ludwig Hugo, resided at another address, had not survived the war.
