Benjamin Frijda was a son of Izaak Levie Frijda and Marianne Leefsma. He was unmarried and lived in at the address of his half-cousin Sara van Geldere Frijda, a daughter of Hertog Levie Frijda and Esther Rosenbach. Benjamin Frijda passed away in Haarlem and the funeral records at the Jewish cemetery in Haarlem reveal that Benjamin Frijda was buried there.
