Marcus van der Woude was a son of Gompert van der Woude and Leentje Gobetz. He married 4 March 1925 Sara Geertruida Vischschraper, a daughter of Abraham Vischschraper and Leentje Cosman. The couple had two children: Gompert and Abraham.
This marriage ended in a divorce on 4 April 1929 and on 21 October 1931 Marcus van der Woude married again to Judith Zak, a daughter of Jacob Zak and Cornelia Pots. From this marriage was no offspring.
