David Sealtiel was a son of Israel Sealtiel and Betje Koort. He had three children with Rebecca Arpels . Two of them survived the Holocaust. David Sealtiel was an artist. In the world of artists he was known as "Willy Poor". Because he wasn't able to earn enough money as an artist, he started trading. He had a shop (until the end of 1926) with among others cigarettes at the Weesperstraat and at the Nieuwe Kerstraat he had a more or less the same shop. Around 1926 he went broke. After his failure, he became a vendor at the street market with cigarettes but couln't earn enough money with that too. And therefore he became an artist again, as an humorist and ventriloquist at parties and weddings.
