Mozes de Metz was a rabbi and a religious teacher. On the occasion of his 40th jubilee, he received the title 'chaweer' by Chief Rabbi S.J.S Hirsch. His first wife, Judikje de Metz-de Metz, had died at an early age. With her he had two children: Eliazer, pharmacist in Amsterdam, and one child that survived the war.
