Ruben Salomon Swaab was a son of Salomon Levie Swaab and Sara Swaab. He married 12 July 1916 in Amsterdam to Betje van Ploeg, a daughter of Aron van Ploeg and Hendrina de Jong. The couple had two children who have survived the war.
Ruben Salomon was born in a family with in total elven children, of whom two children have died very young and four daughters have survived the war, however one brother-in-law, Mozes Wegloop, just as Ruben Salomon's other siblings: Sally, Mozes, Barend and Rebecca Mietje, have been killed all during the Holocaust.
