Shortly before leaving for Westerbork in 1943, Hendrika (Riek) Henriques de la Fuente-de Vries, also on behalf of her two daughters Nida and Mia, wrote another card (see images on the right) to her neighbors at Vechtstraat 89 I. The text reads (somewhat edited) as follows:
'Dear friends,
We are on the train at the moment; it is now 6:30 am. We are still at the Muiderpoort station. It is very hot in the train and it is not exactly pleasant to sit. Nida is happy joined us and is coming with us. Only she has nothing with her, not even a cloak. If possible, send it immediately. Also send food to Westerbork. We may still get it. We are all firm; you stay that way. The Dreese and Elkan families are also on the train with us.
Now dear people, much love to Lydia [= girl next door] of ours,
your Nida, Mia and Riek de la Fuente.'
