Sientje van der Sluis was a daughter of Joseph van der Sluis and Esther Spaanbroek. Her siblings were Simon and Elisabeth, who both have survived the Holocaust, Klara, Gerrit, Ephraim, Jaantje, Isak, Leentje, Benjamin en Marcus.
Sientje married Johannes Franciscus Zonneveld on 29 December 1920 but from whom she was divorced on 17 April 1942.
