David Meents was born and raised in the old Jewish quarter of Amsterdam. On 23 October 1935 he married Frederika Prins. In 1937 their son Hartog was born. In February 1941 David was arrested on the Waterlooplein and deported to Buchenwald via Schoorl. In May 1941 he was deported from there to Mauthausen, where he was murdered after three months.
