Marianne Zak was a daughter of Machiel Zak and Judith Olivier. She married 13 December 1911 in Amsterdam to Coenraad van de Kar, a son of David van de Kar and Heintje Schraal.
Marianne was born in a family with twelve children. Two of them have died in childhood. The other children all have been killed during the Holocaust.
