Abraham Lelie was a son of Haim Lelie and Kaatje Beugeltas. He married 27 October 1926 to Esther Bleekveld, a daughter of Moses Bleekveld and Betje Moscoviter.
Abraham was born in a family with seven children. A twin died soon after they were born. His other siblings were Isaac, Leentje, Rebecca and Mietje. They have been killed during the Holocaust.
