Margaretha Zegerius, who lived in with one of her siblings, was a daughter of Hartog Zegerius and Susanna de Jong. She married 26 January 1933 in Amsterdam a non-Jewish man, from whom she divorced on 9 May 1940. From this marriage no children were born.
Margaretha remarried on 2 April 1941 in Amsterdam again a non-Jewish man, from whom she expected a baby. However, pregnant of her first child, she was deported to Sobibor where she has been killed on 21 May 1943.
Margaretha was born into a family of eight children; four of them have died in infancy and three children have survived the Holocaust. Her mother however passed away on 3 June 1917 in Amsterdam and her father Hartog remarried on 22 January 1919 Rachel Dupont. From this marriage a son was born in that same year, her half-brother Maurice, who has been killed in Mauthausen.
