Samuel Waterman was a son of Abraham Waterman and Mietje Waterman. He married Johanna Caransa on 24 August 1910 in Amsterdam. They had eight children, among them Abraham, Morest, Joseph, Izaac and Hartog. Three children survived the Holocaust.
