Samuel Jacobs was a son of Mozes Alexander Jacobs and Branca Tonningen. He married Betje Dingsdag in Amsterdam on 4 November 1896, a daughter of Salomon Dingsdag and Engelina Spier. The couple had five children: Branca, Salomon, Engelina, Mozes and Alexander.
Betje Dingsdag passed away however on 12 October 1926 and Samuel remarried in Amsterdam on 31 August 1927 to Vogeltje Canes. She passed away on 7 February 1939, 56 years old.
