Jozeph (Joop) van der Heim was a son of Mozes van der Heim and Beligje Keiser. He was the widower of Boelea van Tyn.
Jozeph van der Heim built approximately eight little houses in Lekkerkerk, which he let. The street was called the 'Jodenbreestraat' after the owner of the houses.

Jozeph van der Heim (also known as Moos) also gave dancing lessons. To promote his lessons he used to sing:
"Een, twee, drie, vier, vijf, zes,
Moos de jood geeft dansles,
tussen zes en zeven uur,
achter in de meubelschuur."
