Joseph van Dijk was a son of Aron van Dijk and Mirjam d' Ancona. He wrote lyrics, including some for Max Tak’s cabaret. Two of his songs are called ‘Morgen gaat het beter’ (Things will be better tomorrow) and ‘Onder de bomen van het plein’ (Under the trees in the square). Joseph was divorced from Rosa Rodrigues and had three children and two grandchildren. His two daughters still lived with their mother. His son Aron lived with his family on another address. His grandchildren survived the war.
