Leman Lierens and Henriette Pekel were married at Westerbork transit camp on 28 November 1942. He was a merchant and the widower of Sara Polak. He was a son of Samson Lierens and Roosje Swaab, both deceased. Henriette was a daughter of Jacob Pekel and Gracia Rodrigues, both deceased. The daughter of the bridegroom, Doortje Lierens, and her husband Jacob Brander served as witnesses at the wedding. They signed the marriage certificate.
