About Lewie Härtz

Lewie Härtz was a student at the primary school in Harderwijk, also known as the French School. When he was in first or second grade an excursion was made to Hulshorst. The pupils went by train. They walked along the Polish Allee and ate cheries at the open air restaurant 'De Zwarte Boer'. In the afternoon the children returned by bus.

In September 1942 Lewie Härtz reported for forced labour service. He was sent to camp 't Wijde Gat near Staphorst. During the clearing of the Jewish labour camps, Lewie Härtz was also brought to camp Westerbork in oktober 1942.
