Maurits Salomon was a son of Jacobus Salomon and Saartje van Hachgenberg, a family with in total thirteen children and of whom he self, Joseph, Rebecca, Margaretha and Catherina have died during the Holocaust.
He married 21 June 1916 in Rotterdam Kaatje Pappie, a daughter of Meijer Pappie and Branca van Naarden.
