Emanuël Hagenaar was married to Anna Delden, who died in 1929. The couple had thirteen children.
In the war Isaac, David, Rachel, Roosje, Eliazer and Barend died. Five children died before the war and two children survived the war.
Emanuël Hagenaar married for a second time on 7 October 1938. His bride was Esther Lootsteen.
It is also known that Emanuël was a free workman.
In 1914 the family moved to Oostzaan. When Oostzaan became under water because of a broken dike, the family moved to Amsterdam. There Anna died in 1929.
