Jacob Godfried was not married. He worked as a butcher in the slaughterhouse on the Galgenkampsweg in Meppel, but was dismissed here in 1941 because of his Jewish origin. On 17 August 1942 he was brought to the labour camp Linde. Only one day later he arrived in Westerbork.
