Gompel Pinto was a son of Eliazar Pinto and Hendrika de Levie. He married Hannchen de Vries in Leer, Germany on 7 April 1899. A month later, this marriage was administered in Oude Pekela on 5 May 1899. The couple had two children: Frida Pinto and one child who presumably survived the war.
Hannchen de Vries died in 1938. Both children already resided at other addresses. On 7 July 1942 Gompel Pinto moved from Oude Pekela to Amsterdam, where he lived at 254 Zuider Amstellaan.
