Mozes Neuburger, who was usually called Maurice, was one of the four children of Aäron Neuberger and Betje Pool.
In family circle Mozes was called ‘big Maurice’ to distinguish him from his cousin who also was called Maurice. Mozes was a tall and strong man, so his cousin got the nickname ‘little Maurice’.
Mozes had a good sense of humour.
He was a sales representative for a bicycle factory. During the war he sent a postcard from Westerbork which has been preserved.
