Salomon van Dijk was a son of Aron van Dijk and Mirjam d'Ancona. He and his wife had separated in 1939. He worked at the department store owned by his father Aron van Dijk. Salomon’s three children survived the war. At Westerbork transit camp, Salmon married Julia Henriëtte de Vries from Hardegarijp, Friesland.
