Hartog Stranders was a son of Benjamin Jozeph Stranders and Elizabeth van Straaten. He married on 14 January 1931 in Den Haag to Eva Sara Kalker. The couple had three children: Elizabeth, who survived the Holocaust, Adeline Sara, who died in childhood, 2 years old, and Hans.
