About Emanuel de Groot

The Arnhem police commissioner requested that Emanuel de Groot, residing in Arnhem, be located, detained and brought to trial. He was suspected of having changed his place of residence without obtaining the required authorization. This description referred to Jews who had gone into hiding.

Emanuel de Groot stayed in Driebergen in a children's home on the Welgelegenlaan 29. He was apprehended there with other children on 15 November 1943. Emanuel de Groot arrived in Westerbork on 17 November 1943. He was sent to Theresienstadt on 4 April 1944 and from there on 23 October 1944 to Auschwitz. He was murdered upon arrival.
