Louis van Blijdestein, born in Sittard in 1915, was a son of the religious teacher Nathan Bernhard Blijdestein from Zaltbommel and Sophia Kransberg from Zutphen, who were married in 1905. Since September 1937 Louis stayed in Amsterdam, at a dozen addresses but per February 1941, he was registered as resident at the address Molenbeekstraat 10 in Amsterdam. Afterwards. Louis has moved another five times. He married 22 October in Amsterdam the roman-catholic Elisabeth Hubertina Canton from Roosteren (province of Limburg), who stayed also since September 1937 in Amsterdam. She too resided at various addresses and she has survived the war.
On 16 April 1944, Louis en Elisabeth had a twin, a daughter and a son. Both children have survived the Holocaust just as their mother Elisabeth Hubertina Canton. However, Louis van Blijdestein lost his life somewhere in Mid Europe on 15 Maart 1945.
