Essina van der Ziel was a daughter of Sander van der Ziel and Ragel Druif. She married Leon Salomon van der Stam in 1891 in Amsterdam. He passed away in 1907. They had ten children, among whom Alexander, Louis, Heijman, Nico and Clara
