Eliazer was the son of Salomon de Miranda and Sipora Dubbel. Eliazer had a twin brother. The family moved in 1902 to Antwerp. Salomon died there in 1919.

Leo (Eliazer) de Miranda was married. His wife survived the war in hiding. In April 1945, she documented her story. The manuscript is held at the NIOD (Netherlands Institute for War Documentation).
Leo lived downstairs from his mother in law, Aaltje Roet-van Horst.
