Franz Rosenberger fled from Germany to the Netherlands, where he arrived in Brummen on 1 April 1938. He was known as Ferri. After residing at various assembly points of the Palestine Pioneers, he stayed from 16 May 1941 until 31 December 1942 at Huize Voorburg, the youth aliyah home in Elden. This home in the South of Arnhem was intended for older Palestine pioneers (ages 16 to 19).
