Meijer Mauw was a son of Emanuel Hartog Mauw and Saartje Emanuel Gobetz. He married 16 November in Amsterdam to Elsje Carels, a daughter of Levie Philip Carels and Marianne Springer. The couple had five children; three daughters deceased already before the war. Their sons Levie and Emanuel have been killed during the Holocaust.
