Schoontje ('Sientje') Wittenburg was a daughter of Salomon Wittenburg and Rachel Zeeman. She married Liebman Trijtel in Amsterdam on 20 August 1884, a son of Levie Liebman Trijtel and Heijntje van Gelder. The couple had six children. Their son Salomon left Holland for North America when he was 21 years of age. Their daughter Rachel deceased 13 September 1939 in Berchem (Belgium). The other childeren, namely Heintje, Levie, Abraham and Joseph have been killed all in the Holocaust. Her husband Liebman Trijtel passed away on 17 February 1919 and after his death, Schoontje remarried on 8 November 1921 in Antwerp Wolf Colmans, a son of Levie Colmans and Mietje Liefman Diamant. However, Wolf Colmans died 16 July 1940 in Antwerp and Schoontje then moved to Amsterdam, as a widow, where she lived in in the family of her son Joseph. Schoontje passed away on 5 June 1942 in Amsterdam and two days later, she has been interred in the Jewish Cemetery in Diemen.
