Jacob Zwart was a son of Salomon Mozes Zwart and Saartje Meijer Barber. He married 12 November 1873 in Amsterdam to Esther Mozes Groen, a daughter of Mozes Groen and Saartje Abraham Kleinkramer.
The couple had ten children, among them a daughter Lena and a son Meijer, who has died in childhood, 2 years old. All other children, Sara, Roosje, Mozes, Hendrika, Ruben, Juda, Jetje and Salomon have been killed during the Holocaust.
Jacob's wife Esther deceased 30 March 1922 in Amsterdam, 71 years old.
