Gustave Emanuël Julius Levie was the son of Meijer Levie and Bertha Elekan. He was known as Maan. He had a reputation as a hedonist and a loafer. He traded sheep and cows and haunted the large markets in Rotterdam, Leiden and even Leeuwarden. He owned a car with registration number 8606.
