About Eleazar Bing

Eleazar Bing, also known as Eli, was the son of Julius Jacob Bing and Sientje Englander. Eleazer Bing had a kosher butcher shop on the Achterstraat in Alkmaar, which his father ran before him.
During the war Eleazer went into hiding on a farm on the Middenweg in Heerhugowaard. There he was betrayed by three NSB'ers. After he was arrested, he was taken from Alkmaar to Amsterdam. At Amsterdam Central Station he tried to escape by diving into the waterfront and swimming across. When he came up for air, he was shot by a member of the landwacht. In their report, the police of Alkmaar wrote that he had committed suicide during transport.
