Marcus van Boele was a son of Abraham van Boele and Batseba Farro. He was a cabaret singer at the time he married in Amsterdam on 18 January 1923 Keetje Barug, the daughter of Abraham Barug and Rachel Maarsen. Marcus and Keetje had two children: Batseba and Rachel. Both were killed in Sobibor, together with their mother, while Marcus was killed in Auschwitz already 6 months before.
Marcus van Boele was born into a family with seven children, of whom also his brothers Ruben and David van Boele were killed in the Shoah.
