Judith van Gelder was a daughter from the 1st marriage of Jacob Juda van Gelder and Sophie Mendes. She married Samuel Kropveld on 2 February 1921 in Amsterdam, a son of Izak Kropveld and Esther Grobfeld. The couple had four daughters: Esther, Sophia, Carolina and Jacoba, who all have been killed in the Shoah.
