About Salomon Leons

Salomon Leons, born in Rotterdam, was a son of Louis Leons and Esther Frank. Aged 24, he married Dina Selina Wolf, who was 25 years of age, on 23 April 1903 in Rotterdam, a daughter of Carel Wolf and Cato de Haas. The couple had two children, namely Esther Jeannette in 1905 and Karel Louis in 1915. Their daughter has survived the Holocaust, their son Karel Louis has been killed in Auschwitz on 26 February 1943 .

Salomon Leons, moved from Rotterdam to Den Haag in Februari 1903, runned there a shop in handicrafts articles. After their marriage, his wife Dina Selina Wolf followed him to Den Haag too, where she passed away on 16 May 1930. Salomon remarried then on 27 May 1931 in Rotterdam Leentje van der Heijm, a daughter of Heiman van der Heijm and Keetje Vroman, but they continued to dwell in Den Haag at Stationsweg 40 A.

On 19 February 1943 Salomon and Leentje were registered in Kamp Westerbork and stayed in barack 70. A few days later, on 23 February they have been deported to Auschwitz where they have been killed upon arrival there on 26 February 1943.
