Johanna Cateau Walg, born at Leerdam, was a daughter of Abraham Walg and Judith Wijzenbeek. She married Levie (Louis) Walg in Leerdam on 10 October 1888, a son of Isaac Walg and Catharina Horneman. The couple had eight children, of whom one babygirl has been stillborn and four other children have died in childhood, very young. Her daughters Catharina, Judith Roza and Saartje however have been killed in the Shoah.
21 November 1913 Johanna Cateau Wald divorced Levie (Louis) Walg in Tiel and she worked at various places as Amsterdam, Winterswijk, Tiel and Rotterdam as housekeeper. On 2 June 1936 she lived in at the address Essenburgsingel 15 a in Rotterdam and she moved 19 May 1939 to "Huize Bertha" at Straatweg 227-231 in Rotterdam Hillegersberg where she passed away 14 Februari 1943.
