Simona Verduin was born in November 1923 in Amsterdam as daughter of Simon Verduin and Annaatje Frank. Rather shortly after her birth, she moved with her parents to Belgium, where they have resided in Berchem and Deurne (both districts of Antwerp). In 1937 her sister Mary was born in Deurne. In April 1941 the family returned to Amsterdam and lived at Nieuwe Amstelstraat 8 I.
On 2 August 1942, all family members of the Verduin family were registered by the Jewish Council. She was a lampshade maker by trade and according other data from the City Archive of Amsterdam she was also a sewing machine stitcher.
One week later, on 6 August 1942, Simona was arrested and taken from her home and already the next day, 7 August 1942 put on transport to Auschwitz. Eventually she lost her life there on 30 September 1942.
