Kaatje Schaap, usually named Clara, was a daughter of Wolf Schaap and his 2nd wife Judith Stuwert. She was a diamond cutter by profession and married 8 January 1890 in Amsterdam the diamond polisher Mozes van Engel, a son of Hartog van Engel and Judik Salomon de Metz. Mozes however passed away already after four years, on 12 April 1894.
Kaatje van Engel-Schaap lived at Plantage Kerklaan 4 2nd floor in Amsterdam, one stock above her sister sara Schaap, who lived at the 1st floor. Her other sister Antje lived at nr. 6. Kaatje was taken together with her sister Sara from her home address on 15 April 1943 to Westerbork where she ended up in barrack 62. On 27 April 1943 she was put on transport to Sobibor where Kaatje on arrival there on 30 April 1943 has been immediately killed.
